The Fifty Words of Green Eggs and Ham

Mrs Allen’s assembly on Monday focused on her telling us that books do not always need to be long to make them fun to read and listen to. She read us a story that only had fifty different words in it, called Green Eggs and Ham, by Dr Seuss. The author was able to do this by using a lot of repetition and rhyming. There are so many different sorts of books that you can enjoy, and whether they are fiction/non-fiction, fantasy, poetry, newspapers etc., they are all helping us to improve and learn new vocabulary that we can use in our own work
