Year Five have continued to learn about the Mayan civilisation. Something that can make History come alive is when the children are able to make items similar to those used during the period in question.
Due to the snowy disruptions of last week, World Book Day came to Benedict House somewhat later than planned – but, as they say, better late than never! Some children (and teachers!) shared their wonderful book character costumes with the rest of the school on Monday
The weather conditions tested our resolve last week. We were determined not to let it stop learning, when at all possible, yet it was also important to balance the children’s time with some fun.
Last week Year One headed off to the National Maritime Museum, in Greenwich, to spend the day as pirates.
