New Equipment and Toys for Benedict House

It felt as if Christmas had come early when we arrived back at school to find some special gifts waiting for us.  Thanks to the Friends of Benedict House and their volunteers for all the fundraising that has happened. All the hard work and hours of dedication that they have put in to each and every event can be seen in the wonderful equipment they have gifted to the school.

Suggestions from the children and last year’s School Council were given to the Friends to help them decide how best to help the school. After much deliberation, it was agreed that a quiet area was needed for those pupils who wanted to sit, read or draw, away from those children who wanted to run around on the playground. Many of the children also wanted equipment that could be used in morning care, after care, wet playtimes and during holiday clubs.

Throughout the summer holidays, the Friends, especially Mrs MacInnis, were busy ordering the popular items, and trying hard to get them delivered in time for the start of term. This happened, with the exception only of two Friendship Benches, which will be coming before the end of the month.

Breakfast club have been having so much fun this week with all of the new toys and games gifted to us by the Friends. The new Harry Potter colouring book has been a real hit and there has been more than one excited scream during a game of Buckaroo! Thanks again to the Friends.
