Greenwich Royal Observatory and a Couple of Detours

Years Five and Six went on a school trip to the Royal Observatory on Friday. A short detour was made to see the Cutty Sark, a British clipper ship, used to transport tea from China and wool from Australia. They then completed a six mile walk to the Royal Observatory. The views were breath-taking and appreciated by all. They were able to see the famous Meridian line, Flamsteed House, John Harrison’s timekeepers, the Camera Obscura and the Great Equatorial Telescope
