Fantastic school trip to London Zoo

School trip to the 'Rainforests'

Year Three had a very interesting trip to London Zoo for their topic on Rainforests. Travelling there was exciting, spending time on trains, tubes and buses.

The Benedict House children learned about gorillas being endangered through deforestation and really enjoyed watching the babies play. They made their way through the zoo, learning about butterflies, birds, tigers, bugs and insects, anteaters and many more.

During the investigative lesson, the pupils became explorers and had to find certain animals on their lists using binoculars as well as recording the difference in temperature and humidity.

They were taught about the different rainforest layers and got to see and touch a hissing cockroach! The day was a great hands on experience for the children, seeing the animals up close helped with their knowledge and understanding of the topic.
