Last week, to celebrate Roald Dahl Day and to help with our focus on reading, not only did the children dress up but they also got the chance to take part in many educational activities associated with the books. In Year Three, for example, they recreated their favourite Dahl characters in the style of Quentin Blake. The children used water colour paints and bright colours to mimic the style seen in so many of Roald Dahl’s famous books, and also the book Year Three are currently studying by Michael Foreman. Once again the children thoroughly enjoyed looking more closely at the form of Quentin Blake and it would appear that we have some budding illustrators. All year groups, though, produced some lovely work in relation to the theme and thoroughly enjoyed themselves along the way.Previous Next
