Colourful Characters for Book Day

Due to the snowy disruptions of last week, World Book Day came to Benedict House somewhat later than planned – but, as they say, better late than never! Some children (and teachers!) shared their wonderful book character costumes with the rest of the school on Monday.

We were also fortunate to be visited on Monday by children’s author, Kathy Henderson. Kathy spent some time with each class and shared some of her books with the children, much to their enjoyment. She discussed how she approaches the writing process and the importance of drafting and editing until being happy with the finished piece. Kathy also performed some of her poems, with the children clapping to provide a rhythm in the background to match the theme of the poem – what a fantastic day!
