Last week marked the very exciting 'World Book Day' celebration at Benedict House. We were fortunate enough to be visited by a talented local author, Seniha Slowinski (6th March), who spent time with each class to share her book, Rocky Rocks and the Colourful Socks. Seniha answered questions about the writing process and how she went about getting her work published. In addition to this, Seniha also brought along with her the starring character of her book - Rocky the dog, himself! The children loved meeting Rocky and watched in awe as he behaved so beautifully and performed some special tricks for everyone. Our warmest thanks, as ever, must go to the Friends of Benedict House for organising and funding this special visit for the children.
On World Book Day (7th March) many children (and staff members!) dressed up as some well-known book characters and spent the day in role to celebrate this enjoyable occasion. A parade took place in the morning so that all of the creations could be showcased, and winning costumes, as decided by the teachers, were rewarded with a book token prize.Previous
