Benedict House Embraces the Snow

The weather conditions tested our resolve last week.  We were determined not to let it stop learning, when at all possible, yet it was also important to balance the children’s time with some fun.

Teachers collated workbooks or set projects the children could be busy with whilst at home.  In school, they were split into the different key stages to complete differentiated tasks.  In Key Stage One, they worked on basic skills around the theme of “Snow”.  They enjoyed dancing in P.E., and this included doing some Zumba.

Key Stage Two worked hard on a range of investigations.  These proved quite tricky as a wide range of English and Maths skills were utilised.

The children ate their packed lunches together and on the Wednesday could then go outside. Temperatures were low but, insulated with warm outdoor clothes, the children enjoyed playing in the snow and taking advantage of the fresh air. Many wonderful memories were made as they had fun together.
