Animal Models from Recycled Materials

Year One have been busy making some amazing models as part of our current Science topic 'Animals' and also the upcoming topic on 'Materials'. The children were set the task of making an animal model out of recycled materials at home. The designs and models that were returned were fantastic, and within Science lessons, the children have loved discussing what animal they created. Last week they learnt about how animals can be grouped based on what they eat. They have been able to explain whether the animal they made or chose is a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore. The models helped the children to generate many questions about their Science topic and we look forward to many more over the coming weeks.
