On Friday 29th November 2013 Benedict House had their first ever In- ter-house sports Competition. The children got into their teams (Year 3+4, Year 5+6) and they took part in both netball and football heats in the morning. The team that won received 10 points and if they drew they got 7 points. After all the heats the two teams with the most points went through to the final which was held in the afternoon.
The three House Captains Amrit, Hannah and Francesca report:
Amrit Captain of Scott
Scott were amazing and showed great teamwork and sportsmanship skills throughout the whole of the competition. Scott competed in every final but one and succeeded in all finals they played in, which is fantastic. Scott’s Years Three and Four defending was brilliant in both heats and finals. The Lower School were also joining in with the competition by taking turns at scoring netball and football goals. I am delighted with how Scott were at scoring goals in both netball and football. Overall Scott did exceptionally well and I am hugely proud of everyone.
Francesca Captain of Cook
I am very proud of my team and think that Cook did exceptionally well. We got into all of the finals in both netball and football and our attack and defence showed fantastic skills. We came second in our finals matches but the team never gave up until the whistle. Well done Cook for your great sportsmanship and team work.
Hannah Captain of Nelson
I think everyone tried really hard in the Inter-House Competition last Friday. We got into one final which was the Year Five and Six football match and we won. There are a few things that we need to work on, like marking our opposite players but I think with a little bit more practice we can get into more finals next time we have a competition. Also well done to the Infants who practiced shooting. Everyone did really well!
Final Scores after the Upper School Competition
After the lower School and Upper School points were added together the final results were as follows
Scott- 57 Points Cook-54 Points Nelson-49 Points
Well done to all the children that took part in the day’s events and to the House Captains who did an amazing job, I saw some fantastic leadership skills.
